The process cycle/circle has been an experiment within this project; firstly drawing cracks using charcoal on paper, then burning these drawings, the ashes saved and used to create paint. The ash paint like beauty cream or mask, I applied it to my face, the lower half as if silencing me, controlling my voice.

The weather and location were only a short walk away, a very grey day with light rain added to the sounds and smells of the site. The large, flat rock space, upon which I performed to camera, mirrored my skin as the ash dried and began to crack.

As the rain continued, it started to breath life back into the dry ash, to my face.
