Ash my words are still flowing...
... the poem to go with my wall drawing 'stacked & hidden away' was inspired by the words from a conversation on whatsapp with James - lateral co-collaborator from over on blockvii #blockchaindissentart
James writes about a post I wrote to go with ourlastdaysurbanexploration:
‘I read it and let the words wash over me... connecting and finding a meaning without thinking too much about what it ‘should’ mean’
“stacked & hidden away”
our collaboration is over
our collaboration is done
of their own accord
let fly free into the universe
words in blocks
blocks of words
now sitting in a blog
for everyone to see
read by many
most likely only a few
what of their
is their meaning
of dissenting in just being
on our city streets
or could it be
all of the above
lost in the moment
words in books
stacked filed now hidden
in virtual reality
this is exactly how
my words flow out of my head
they are simply free
so i let them be
in the moment
of their conversational
with a little editing from me
words from Ash
edited extracted & expanded in my response
a little bit of conversational poetry
a vicarious journey beyond the block
beyond the block
that is a title in itself
snippets of converse i agree
the road is not uncaring to me
instead it is a well worn friend
who lets me be just me
it is aged in places
showing character in its mismatched peculiarities
their presence does not pervert the measured order of the street
plus they do not show humility
as no one notices their eccentricity except me
is hard won
especially in this place of art
beyond the norm
i point those marks out globally
slowly ever so slowly some people
oh so few
become aware of their existence at least
they even start to see what i see
Ash brilliant description
molten tarmac: surreptitious
i agree it covertly flows taking the markings with it
in slow motion it dissents
with the solidity of the cityscape forever changing
like the fluidities of life
where the everyday detail metamorphosises
we do not notice
then they pass us by
the flow of life
like the everchanging space
we live in
like the markings on city road
ever so small changes in detail
diversification over time
descending ascending dissenting
through the dense urbanscape
in search of a common
place & space
we do ask
where are we all flowing to?
the answer is found
in the moment
it matters not to those marks
for - they give us a sense of place
a playful space
in the moment
in which they exist
space is not ever the same
sit reflect what can we see?

Karen, You've outblocked yourself. I love the pictures and text. A new form of conversational poetry that takes me on a vicarious journey beyond the block.
The images comes across as snippets of conversations, the broken, decrepit outdated road markings hang as profane language in an uncaring road that wither for them to whither away. Does their presence pervert the the measured order of the road or add a much needed sense of humility to an otherwise ordered space. A reminder that this space is not Semper Eadem but, like us, it's evolving. The surreptitiously molten tarmac slowly flows, taking the markings with it - dissenting with the solidity of the cityscape - we find ourselves asking where we are all flowing to.
#urbanexploration5 14Feb2018 voice memo
file finally loaded unedited 18Feb2018
while waiting for my voice memo
here are a few visuals from my exploration 5
find a path
out of balance directoinality
I left a comment on David's post 'find a path' over on Block VI
here is my post from those words as a base
free flowing words added to some of yours
an edited version...
words in free fall
as soon as I started to comment on David's post 'find the path'
my words went into free fall
a week on since my block completed
I have discovered the words only flow
when bouncing off another
or when on the streets talking my walk
through to my collaborator in a mobile app voice over
talking 10 to the dozen to someone I know a little
but I have as yet to meet
the world of collaboration
provides an energised space
where we can be ourselves in a common space
where my brain is massaged into action
through thoughts & words seeded from the interaction
I am borrowing from a conversation on insta today
with Ben & James on blockvii
about legal & illegal defacement
appropriation of my words which made me LOL
as the words only came to me of their own volition
during our blockii explorations
David thank-you for your words
I had to put it into verse for my simple mind to take in....
'a path will go where it will go'
'do not resist'
'pay attention to what's in front'
'pay attention to now'
'collaboration is a life saver' for David and indeed me
it gave me the space to just be me & be okay in that being
'its a way to stay in the race when your tanks are blown'
'pass the baton'
'get ready its coming back'
'work in bursts'
'thoughts take over'
let them out if they want to be heard by others
'its ok to leave the grid'
as fast or slow as you will
to find your own place and space
look look & look some more
'find dead ends'
'talk to others'
talk talk talk and talk some more
'find a dead end'
converse all to another even if it is insignificant
dead ends will have one or two points of interest to the other
they may become gems of threads and threads of gems
bounce off each other
'pass the baton'
'wash the dishes'
'work the office'
'raise the periscope'
'find the path'
thanks again David for a virtual collaborative conversation
